We seek a Business Development Manager to help extend our market reach and support the commercial success of Agrecalc. The role will be focused on articulating the capabilities of the Agrecalc platform and support business strategies in the reduction of carbon and GHG emissions within farming and agriculture.

Opportunity

We are currently seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to expand our market presence and drive the commercial success of Agrecalc. This role will emphasise skills such as negotiation, approachability, teamwork, initiative, adaptability, quick decision-making, and deal-closing abilities.

Duties

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working independently and collaboratively within a small SME team.
  • Setting and achieving targets from lead generation to deal closure, while supporting delivery.
  • Traveling nationally and internationally as needed.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Representing the company at agricultural events, both online and in person.
  • Updating the pipeline on our CRM and actively pursuing leads and prospects.
  • Working closely with Commercial team on client and account management.
  • Working closely with the Finance Manager and accountants.

Support users, customers, prospective customers, partners and other key stakeholders

  • Working closely with the Agrecalc Head of Customer Relationships and Head of Marketing in the provision of support and communications to our audiences.

Skills and experience

Essential requirements

Experience

We are seeking an individual with a robust background in business development, possessing excellent communication, presentation, and general software skills. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in software sales.
  • Proficiency in communication and presentation skills.
  • Previous experience using CRM systems and achieving targets and KPIs.
  • The ability to translate client requirements into actionable plans for delivery teams.
  • A proven track record of sales and business development success.
  • Attention to detail and high standards, with respect to completion and follow through.
  • Strong numeracy and the ability to work with data and spreadsheets.
  • Possession of a valid driving license.

Qualities

  • Strong service mindset to enable and support others and who has initiative to recognise opportunities and projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and team player.
  • Curious mindset and a willingness to learn, ask questions and contribute your ideas.

Desirable

Experience

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have broader experience in:

  • Software as a service solutions.
  • Knowledge or a background in the wider food chain or agricultural businesses.
  • Understanding business strategy and identifying development opportunities.
  • Ability to work within a dynamic SME team.

 

It is imperative that you are an exceptional communicator, as building relationships with customers, partners, and a diverse array of internal and external stakeholders will be a key aspect of this role.

 

Education / Qualifications

Preferred Degree Level (or equivalent). Employment history within Agriculture or the wider food chain industry.

The opportunity

Agrecalc is looking to broaden and strengthen its market reach and customer support team with a Business Development Manager focused on positioning Agrecalc as an indispensable tool for the broader food chain industry.

The primary responsibility of this role is to collaborate with new and existing customers, expanding the utilisation of the Agrecalc tool across the UK. Reporting to the Head of Commercial and CEO, the successful candidate will demonstrate a good understanding of our software and its business benefits. A solid background in business development, proficiency in CRM systems, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to manage KPIs and targets are essential for success in this role.
